  • Snake handling course was held in April. No one was bitten. Thanks to Bob Cooper for taking the course.
  • Wongutha sent a team to the Nickel Cup in Kalgoorlie. Johnathan Johnston won the fairest and best award.
  • Bushrangers Camp at Lucky Bay with CAPS Coolgardie Bushrangers.
  • Six students each were awarded $500 scholarships from ALS.

  • The school purchased a second hand Mitsubishi Canter truck to be used by Bushrangers, CDEP and for general school use.
  • Amnesty International have invited 4 students to participate in a student conference in Perth on June 2nd. Harry Graham will be accompanying the students and the project will be funded by Esperance Aboriginal Land Development.
  • Funding was received from CGA (DEST) for renovations to the boys dormitory, the manual arts building and construction of a new laundry and plant operator shed. It has been very difficult to get builders and staff and CDEP have been involved in the building projects. The dormitory renovation is progressing well and should be complete by the end of the term.
  • Integrated Tree Cropping (ITC) offered the school a quantity of fencing that was on a property near Condingup. School staff and the CDEP traveled out to the farm and removed the fencing. The fencing which is fairly new and in good condition is worth in excess of $10,000.
  • Students attended the Kalgoorlie Fair in April.
