Driver Training Program
 
 
Eligible students at Wongutha Caps have the opportunity to participate in the Driver Training Program.  Students begin with the Keys 4 Life program in which they must complete a 12 week course which covers topics such as:
 
  • Driver Distractions
  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Driving with friends
  • Consequences associated with breaking the law such as: financial, emotional and social implications that result from accidents and police infringements.
  • Road Rules
To be able to participate in the program students must:
 
  • Participate in Tuesday program consistently
  • Provide the following documents:
  • Birth Certificate
  • Obtain a letter from the school
  • Obtain a etter from the bank
  • Have a key card
  • Present a Student id card
  • Present a Medicare card
  •  Cheque for $94.00
Once successfully completing the Keys 4 Life program, students then receive their logbooks and their L plates. From that point students and driving instructors will endeavour to complete the following qualifications:
 
  • 25 Hours of driving
  • Practical driving assessment (PDA)
  • 25 hours of driving
  • Hazard perception test (HPT)

Once the student completes their required 50 hours driving, and the associated tests, the student is then rewarded with their Red P plates.
